Dallas’ own Andy Timmons performed at The Guitar Sanctuary’s Sanctuary Music and Events Center in McKinney Friday night (see photos from the Sanctuary’s Grand Opening), playing two sets; the first consisting of his axe-slinging interpretation the Beatles classic “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, and the second set consisting of various ATB material, old and new.

Originally from Evansville, Indiana (where Andy first started playing guitar at age 5!), he later moved to Dallas, TX starting his career as a studio-musician. Shortly after, Andy served as guitarist for 80’s glam-rock band Danger Danger, living in New York for 4 years and has toured the world with such acts as Kiss and Alice Cooper, before returning back to Dallas in 1993 to continue his studio and solo career. Andy has played alongside many other great guitarists, and has been a regular guest on Steve Vai and Joe Satriani’s G3 tours in Dallas (see photos of Vai’s show at HOB Dallas, and Satriani’s 2013 show at Verizon Theater), Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, and Steve Morse, just to name a few!

To date, Andy has recorded nine solo albums: ear X-tacy, ear X-tacy 2, Pawn Kings, Orange Swirl, The Spoken and the Unspoken, And-thology 1 & 2. In 2001 Andy signed with Steve Vai’s Favored Nations label and released That Was Then, This Is Now (a compilation of the first two ear X-tacy records and five new tracks), Resolution, and his latest release, 2011’s Andy Timmons Band Plays Sgt. Pepper.
