DALLAS — Saturday morning, more than 600 volunteers led by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the City of Dallas Trinity River Corridor Project, North Texas Mountain Bike Patrol, and Groundwork Dallas gathered together to help remove an estimated 2,000 tires from the Great Trinity Forest. School buses were provided to shuttle the volunteers to and from the various clean-up sites in the area, while Waste Management donated several large dumpsters to assist in the clean-up effort.
The youths from the Latter-Day Saints (who came from Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, and Utah) participate twice a year in various social activities, workshops, and service projects.
